Indonesia is a place where time seems to slow down. Between lush forests, rice fields and vibrant villages, ancient crafts are still alive — passed down from one generation to the next.
One of these traditions is the art of weaving rattan and bamboo, a skill Indonesian artisans have perfected over centuries.
In family workshops, knowledge isn’t taught from books.
It’s inherited.
Observed.
Practiced.
A grandfather teaches his son… the son teaches his daughter… and this is how a living legacy is created.
With the same care used to weave baskets and everyday tools, artisans now shape something truly special: a banneton. Each piece is crafted by hand, strand by strand, with patience and deep respect for nature. The result isn’t just a tool — it’s a functional piece of art.
That’s why at Vubetti, we chose Indonesia to create our 9” round banneton.
Because behind each proofing basket there is history, skill, and a heritage that transforms breadmaking into a ritual.
A banneton made with soul… for bread made with love.
